Give the Gift of Education this #GivingTuesday!

November 17, 2018 by Becca Armstrong

There’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday…

Let’s give the gift of education on November 27!

Meet Randy. He wants to be a pediatrician. Between his mom’s overdoses, his little sister’s pneumonia, and his own severe headaches, he’s spent enough time in hospitals to know the difference between the doctors who simply clock in and out and the ones who stop by just to cheer you up with a magic trick.Randi, Nuevo Camino, New Path, Something New, Cusco Peru, Cusco, Peru, Women's Shelter, Gift of Education, Giving Tuesday, What Would You Give, #GivingTuesday, #WhatWouldYouGive

The road to Randy’s dream starts with tan pants, a button-up shirt, a brown coat and black closed-toe shoes. That’s Randy’s uniform and his ticket to school. Without it, he can’t go to school. And when your mom only makes $250 per month selling clothes six days a week for 12 hours a day, there isn’t money for a uniform.

Randy has already been accepted to the National School of the Sciences. He arrives 2 hours early to school each day to study, and he knows exactly what he needs to do next. Medical exams aren’t offered in Spanish, so Randy has been learning English so he will be ready.

Without his prized ticket to school (his uniform), he’ll miss the chance to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor. [Read more…] about Give the Gift of Education this #GivingTuesday!

Giving Back

November 6, 2018 by Becca Armstrong

It’s beautiful to see our Nuevo Camino moms take what they’ve received and “pay it forward” into the next wave of families. From taking other moms into their own homes, to helping with projects in the schools, they are demonstrating how much a second chance at life means to them. They help build community each day by investing in others who join them on this new path.

October Women’s Call Recording: You Better Lose Yourself!

October 29, 2018 by Becca Armstrong

Two women – across the world – both finding their Nuevo Camino.

Some of the greatest experiences in our lives come after – and often because of – the greatest fights. We can choose to believe that no good thing comes without struggle!

Hear Lynn Ann and Elena share about how they chose to listen to that voice of hope that knew there was something better for their lives. The voice that refused to put themselves in a box any longer and decided to follow their hearts for something better for them and their children.

This Nuevo Camino is for ALL of us in all corners of the world. Let’s continue building it TOGETHER!

Check out our website to learn more about NUEVO CAMINO and to DONATE!
